This is what it's all about. Simply showing up. Helping in any way we can. These guys had never been to Christmount. Never heard of Christmount. They drove from Virginia because they knew someone needed help. Wow. Thank YOU for helping in any way you can. Every donation makes a difference.

Wednesday Oct 23 update
Oh deer! The buck stops here.
We saw two young bucks on the property today! We rarely see deer around here. Lots of bears. We take that as a good sign, right?
The Winston-Salem water crew completed their work at Christmount today! We have water to 100% of the neighborhood now. Yay yay yay! Now we await their bill for the work they’ve done. Boo boo boo!
The South Carolina crew wrapped up their work at Christmount today. They delivered twenty 330-gallon water storage containers to organizations around the area! Amazing.
The Texas Rotary crew spent the day helping in Swannanoa today. They head back to the Lone Star state tomorrow … but they’re already talking about coming back. Yeehaw!
We have one small water leak that Alex is taking care of and then we’ll have water to the maintenance building. And then we can do laundry. Ahhh.
And two neighbors brought homemade brownies to everyone today. They are now officially my favorite residents.
Thanks to all who continue to find ways to support and encourage Christmount. We are feeling the love.

"The Peacemaker's Path"
Now more than ever, people are painfully divided politically, religiously, and culturally. And yet, there is a commonality in our faith traditions that can help us turn away from polarization and create a greater sense of community in which our differences are honored. The Peacemaker's Path brings together wisdom from the world's major religious traditions, including Bahá'í, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Native American spiritualities, Sikhism, Taoism, and Zoroastrianism, showing that we have much more in common than what divides us.
Registration includes a complimentary copy of Jerry's book "The Peacemaker's Path."
Make plans to attend the annual Oreon E. Scott Clergy Conference Sept 17-19 at Christmount featuring the Rev. Jerry Zehr keynoting on "The Peacemaker's Path." Registration is on a sliding scale and includes lodging, meals, and a copy of Jerry's book "The Peacemaker's Path." More info at https://www.christmount.org/oreon-e-scott

History of Camp Brooke
Camp Brooke is named after Brooke Schneitman, a former Christmount Summer Staff member and beloved camp counselor for Christmount's Middle-School Girls Camp. Brooke believed that radical love could change the world. Brooke died in January 2009, after surgery to correct health issues related to Marfan Syndrome. Christmount honored her by renaming our Middle School Girls Camp to Camp Brooke in 2010. In 2020, Christmount reimagined Camp Brooke and began a collaborative partnership with
Girls on the Run, Western NC chapter, to offer "Camp Brooke / Girls on the Run"
Day Camp for 3rd-5th grade girls.
Attend the annual Oreon E. Scott Clergy Conference at Christmount this fall! Open to all clergy from all denominations and leaders within all faith traditions.

Ivy grows like an ivy vine, learning every day.
She takes us into her space. We take her hand, "Come and play!"
"Smell this!" Crunch the lemon balm and smell its scent.
Make the slime. Don't touch that bug! To the pool Ivy went!
Her smile. Her laugh. Eat all the berries. One by one.
Strum Jon's guitar, go down the slip and slide. Ivy makes it all fun!
She's a plant-loving, bug watching, social butterfly.

Your donation makes a difference, allowing us to provide a place for Ivy to discover community, acceptance, and purpose. Thank you for being awesome!
